I have to admit. I’m not a huge fan of the Oscars. I’ve never followed the “stars” and their lives. I don’t get “star struck”, I don’t follow them on Social Media and I’ve never taken a few hours of my time watching any of the awards. Honestly, I had to research what awards the Oscars are known for before writing this post!!!
BUT – with the Oscars having just passed on February 24th, I felt the need to bring up my favorite part.
The dresses.
I’ve always loved photographing brides in their dresses. The beautiful beadwork, lace, ruffles, details – they’re all fun to photograph! I also begged my seniors to bring their beautiful gowns. So you can imagine my JOY when I got to photograph, Grace Otley, Miss Teen Delaware 2015 in one of her GORGEOUS gowns.

I love photographing Boudoir Sessions where the woman decides she wants to bring one of her beautiful gowns. I think wearing that gown brings us back to the days of our youth – where we would twirl and dance like we were the most talented of anyone around. We felt beautiful and wanted to whole world to see.
My daughter is the same way when she puts on her tutu, “Mama, watch!” She makes that plea about 50 times a day and most of the time she says it at least twice! And there’s nothing that stops me in my tracks more than seeing my beautiful daughter twirl around!
Women & girls love to dress up. We like to feel beautiful and this is just one way we can do that.
Our sessions at Boudoir Defined are not just about a woman who is barely dressed – it’s a celebration of women all-together. Dressed or not! So – bring that beautiful dress of yours. Or go out and find one specifically for this session!
Let’s remember what it feels like to twirl and dance like we are the most talented and beautiful person around!
